Description

Development of Conceptual, Basic and Detail Engineering and Construction Management of a Shipyard and a Port for manufacturing, assembling and launching of Oil Towers, Production Unit Decks and Oil/Gas Offshore Modules, required by the national oil industry for drilling and production operations at Plataforma Deltana oil/gas fields.

The port structure consists of three (3) piers at different heights to allow the barges, transporting large built structures, to berth during the whole year.

The designed Terminal was the first in Venezuela with capacity of assembling and launching steel mega-structures, up to 9,000-ton weight, 108-meter long, 70-meter wide and 40-m high, to be used as offshore facilities. The probable estimated size of the barges to be berthed at the terminal is 25-feet draft, 100-to-120-feet wide and 300-to-400-feet long.

The terminal is located on the south bank of the Orinoco River, between Sidor and Venalum facilities. It is developed at Guayana Venezuelan Corporation’s property terrain, occupies approximately 18-hectare area and has an effective river front of above 200 meters.
